How To Make Homemade Waffle Cones

Making your own waffle cones at home can be fun and easy! All you need is a few ingredients (don’t forget the real butter for a deliciously crispy and golden cone!) and a waffle cone maker, and you’ll be building your own ice cream cones in no time.

Step 1: Prep and Preheat

To make golden waffle cones, gather heavy cream, eggs, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, salt, butter and all-purpose flour. At the same time, preheat your waffle cone maker, and have parchment paper ready.

Step 2: Start Mixing Batter

In a medium-sized mixing bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup of heavy cream and 2 eggs. Then, add 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract and 1/4 teaspoon of salt.

Step 3: Add Melted Butter and Flour

Next, add 4 tablespoons of melted butter to the batter and mix. Then, do the same with 2/3 cup of all-purpose flour. Using real butter is essential to create a perfectly crispy and golden cone.

Step 4: Pour Batter

Using a 1/4 measuring cup, scoop batter and pour into the center of the waffle cone maker. Press down waffle maker and let cook for 2 minutes or until golden brown.

Step 5: Roll to Shape Waffle Cone

Remove the flat waffle and place on the parchment paper. Using cone roller shape, quickly roll the waffle into a cone, ensuring the point at the bottom is tight. Hold in this shape for 1 to 2 minutes, until set.

Step 6: Top with Your Favorite Ice Cream

Once the waffle cone is set, scoop your favorite ice cream into the cone, and top with sprinkles, hot fudge or caramel sauce and enjoy!
